Music, Meditation and Inner Peace

What do Music, Meditation and Inner Peace have in common?

Music has the ability to transport us from one state to another in just a few moments as well as meditation. From sadness to joy, from aggressiveness to inner peace, from excitement to quietude, etc… Just for fun, compare listening to this song (Earth’s Prayer) to Dead Rock music or try a traditional piece of folk music from Ireland and you will instantly feel the difference in your inner state.

Since immemorial times, music and meditation practices have been fundamental practices in many sacred traditions and healing ritual on the planet, helping people to awaken to higher states of consciousness, healing, and bliss. Experiment meditation with beautiful music will open you to unimaginable gifts of inner and outer transformation.

The music evokes our divine essence and our greatest passions. Meditation takes us into the depths and wisdom of our own being. Depending on the desired goal (to feel profound inner peace or happiness, celebrate, meditate, or any other state), it is important to choose the appropriate music to listen to.

I invite you to watch and meditate on this video of Snatam Kaur who released her first music video for the song Earth’s Prayer from her new album Ras. Inspired by her deep love and sense of responsibility for the environment, Snatam says, “My intention for this song and this video is that it will help all of us awaken to our role as stewards of the planet.” Directed and photographed by Robin Layton with music produced by Thomas Barquee.
